Plant Fiber Work
Barbara T. Booth has developed a reputation for her love of papermaking. She started with recycled paper and block prints creating beautiful notecards, as well as water-colored paper-pulp bowls. Eventually her work evolved to making paper from 100% plant fibers. This show reflects her recent works in this medium, incorporating skills she learned as a young girl, including embroidery and sewing. Barbara's refined techniques incorporating a variety of plants, flowers, and natural dyes result in unique textures and colors that reflect the natural environment.
